Who we are
AAL is a private limited company registered in England and Wales with company number 06951343. Its registered office address is The Old Barn, Church Lane, Besthorpe, Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG23 7BN. AAL’s services include the delivery of training and consultancy services. Consultancy services include research and evaluation and software design. These are collectively known as ‘services’ in this statement.
AAL is a small business whose annual turnover is under £36 million. Although we are not required to make a modern slavery statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (hereafter ‘Act’), we are making this voluntary statement to show our commitment to ethical trading principles and to set out the steps we are taking to identify risks and tackle modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and in our supply chains.
Depending upon need, our supply chains occasionally consist of freelance consultants who work on specific projects in the areas of software design with associated web design and graphic design, and research and evaluation services.
Our commitment
AAL is committed to ethical trading principles and to acquiring good and services without harm to others.
Due diligence and risk assessment
To help identify and monitor the risk of slavery and human trafficking in our supply chain, anyone who supplies services to AAL must complete a modern slavery risk assessment and satisfy us that they have appropriate policies and procedures in place to mitigate against the risk of modern slavery.
AAL uses a standard supply agreement with service providers. The standard supply agreement include a requirement to comply with the requirements of the Act. Any failure by a supplier to adhere to the requirements of the Act will result in termination of the business relationship with that supplier.
Effectiveness in combating slavery and human trafficking
AAL uses the following key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure how effective we have been at ensuring that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains:
the percentage of suppliers vetted for ethical labour practices
the number of inspections of direct suppliers in our supply chains in the past year
the number of reported breaches in the past year
the percentage of suppliers who confirm they have undergone induction or refresher training on modern slavery in the past 18 months
Training
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, AAL is able to direct suppliers to sources of training to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Act. The directors of AAL have access to, and utilise, training resources to maintain professional competence.
Review statement
Following a review of the effectiveness of the steps we have taken in the 12 months ending 31 January 2025, being the end of AAL’s financial year, to ensure that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking within AAL or in its supply chains, there have been no reported instances of slavery or human trafficking.
This statement was approved and signed by Andrew G. Alonzi, Company Director, on 7 February 2025.
The next review of this statement will take place on 31 January 2026.
